Autism Emergency Contact Form for 911 Center

Erie County's 911 Center utilizes the CAD software in order for their dispatchers to dispatch the proper emergency personnel and equipment to emergency incidents.

Erie County's 911 Center CAD software has the ability to store an Autism Emergency Contact Form associated with your phone number.   Completing an Autism Emergency Contact Form will give the First Responders valuable information in the event of an emergency.  If a 9-1-1- call is received from a residence or facility reporting an emergency, the submitted information is made available to the dispatcher.  This critical information can then be transmitted to responding crews, be it, ambulance personnel, fire crews or police officers.

If the call is placed through a cell phone or some other means, the information can be accessed by the dispatcher.

Erie County's 911 Center has created two (2) forms which request information that is generally needed in an emergency situation.

Please consider including the following when submitting the forms:

1)   Floor plan indicating the "safe area" the individuals may retreat
2)   A recent photo of your loved one

The completed form should be submitted electronically to the attention of Randy  Tripp by selecting the submit icon at the bottom of the form or emailed at rtripp@eriecountypa.gov. If you do not have email access, the completed form may be dropped off or mailed to our offices at the following address:

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Thank you for taking the first step to volunteer! This is a three day event and we will need your help to get it "off the ground."  We will need helpers to assemble kits for the festival, registration help, merchandise sales, Lantern pick-up and Trash pick-up.  We need volunteers for 5-hour shifts.  Safety precautions are taken very seriously and will be put into practice by the local fire departments.  All clean up and safety regulations will be in place by all our volunteers. The lanterns are exclusively sourced, 100% biodegradable, flame retardant with a limited burn time of less than 4 minutes.  They leave a very small footprint on the environment.  This will be a safe and spectacular event for families in our community.

Managing Frustration and Anxiety and Teaching Social Skills

Jed Baker, Ph.D. is the director of the Social Skills Training Project, a private organization serving individuals with autism and social communication problems.  He is on the professional advisory board of Autism Today, ASPEN, ANSER, YAI, the Kelberman Center and several other autism organizations.  In additional, he writes, lectures, and provides  training internationally on the topic of social skills training and managing challenging behaviors. He is an award winning author of nine books spanning a wide range of topics related to autism, including Overcoming Anxiety in Children and Teens. His work has also been featured on ABC World News, Nightline, the CBS Early Show, and the Discovery Health Channel.

Congratulations Dustin Nesbitt! Dustin completed the Bay Swim in 50 minutes. Thank you for all your efforts in raising awareness of autism in our local community. A huge shout out to Employee Community Servie Fund of General Electric for supporting Dustin on his endeavor. Dustin raised $2,500 for the Autism Society NWPA.
